Weekly School Updates

Happy Thursday! It was definitely a busy week at ICS.  Our first graders went to the Willows for their Annual Christmas caroling.  The residents always enjoy listening to our students as they sing Christmas songs.   As a school, we donated over 750 hats, gloves, and mittens to Pass It On.    Congratulations to the fifth graders--they brought in the most and won a popcorn bar.   Our students did a wonderful job in the program this afternoon and evening.  As always, Mrs. Schust

Happy Thursday! We began this week by celebrating Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception as a school family.  Father celebrated this Mass ad orientum, which was the first time that most of our Saints had ever done this before.  Leading up to the Holy Day, Deacon Jim stopped in all of the classes to talk a little bit about this.  He explained that for centuries, this is how Catholic liturgy was celebrated; the celebration of Mass facing the people was officially encou

Happy Thursday! It was a busy week at ICS.  On Monday, Mrs. Delaney Naugle, our intervention teacher,  was named the Bellevue Lions Teacher of the month.  We are grateful for all that Mrs. Naugle does here for all of our staff and students.  She is a blessing to have at our school. Happy Wednesday! With the holiday tomorrow, we wanted to send this out this evening, rather than interrupting Thanksgiving.  On behalf of the staff at Immaculate Conception, I would like to wish a Happy and blessed Thanksgiving to all. Students were given their Raffle Tickets on Monday.  We are asking that each student sell at least 10 tickets.  Let's use the holidays as a time to sell to family and friends! Happy Thursday! Our Annual Christmas afternoon program will begin at 12:45.  This is a change from the original time that was sent home to families last week.  Please let anyone who is planning to come to the program know we will be starting at 12:45. Happy Thursday!   Families are invited to come to First Friday Devotions on the first Friday of every month for a Holy Hour that includes Eucharistic Adoration, Evening Prayer, and Benediction.  The next First Friday is  tomorrow evening , November 7, from 5:30-6:30 pm.   Deacon Jim is beginning to train new servers!  The qualifications are that a student must be Catholic, in at least 4th grade, and be available to serve at weekend Masses at Immaculate Conception. Happy Thursday!   For our parents who pick up their students after school, we have had to make a change regarding that procedure.  The Bellevue buses that come to pick up our students on Broad Street at the end of the day DO NOT activate the stop sign that prohibits cars from going around the buses (they are not permitted to do so, as this is a loading and unloading zone, similar to any other school).  Because of this, cars just go around the buses.  Our students (and parents
