Happy Thursday! It was a great week--having all of our staff and students back in the building again! We celebrated Father Al's birthday yesterday, which was fun for all! The school was a bit lonely without them, but we have enjoyed updates and pictures from them to stay connected! We held our Kindergarten Screening today for the Saints who will be joining us in August. We screened 21 students, so our kindergarten will be full this fall! Happy Thursday! Our school was a little lonely the last couple of days, as four of our teachers and our fifth and sixth graders have been at camp. They had a great time, and we are so glad to have them back in our building again! Our Annual Reverse Raffle is THIS Saturday, April 25, in the school gymnasium. Happy Thursday! During Lent, our Student Council sponsored a Kindness Drive...when staff members saw students showing kindness to others, they were given a ticket. Those tickets were placed in a box, and this morning during announcements, several tickets were drawn, and those students earned Casual Dress passes. Happy Thursday! This evening begins the Holy Triduum--the most holy days of the liturgical year. Father Al washed the feet of some of our eighth graders in much the same way that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. Tomorrow, we will come to venerate the cross, and on Saturday evening, we will come together for the Easter Vigil. Happy Thursday! Tomorrow morning, all of the students in kindergarten through eighth grade will be receiving their House shirts (this has been postponed two times due to snow days!). Happy Thursday! Yesterday we celebrated Mass with Father David Kidd, the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Toledo. Our fourth through eighth-grade boys stayed after Mass and spent some time listening to Father Kidd discuss vocations. Happy Thursday! It was definitely a busy week at ICS. Our first graders went to the Willows for their Annual Christmas caroling. The residents always enjoy listening to our students as they sing Christmas songs. As a school, we donated over 750 hats, gloves, and mittens to Pass It On. Happy Thursday! We began this week by celebrating Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception as a school family. Father celebrated this Mass ad orientum, which was the first time that most of our Saints had ever done this before. Leading up to the Holy Day, Deacon Jim stopped in all of the classes to talk a little bit about this.
