Weekly School Update 9/24/2026

Happy Thursday!   

It is that time of the year--Parent/Teacher Conferences.  We will hold Conferences on Wednesday, October 7, from 3pm-8pm, and Thursday, October 8, from 8am-2pm.  Please log in to your Option C account to schedule a conference with your child's homeroom teacher.  Please also feel free to schedule a time with our special teachers (art, music, physical education).  For middle school parents, you may also schedule a time with subject teachers if you need to.  If you are having trouble scheduling the conference on Option C, please reach out to either the teacher or to Mrs. Rife.

Next Wednesday is our Retreat at the Shrine.  We will begin the day with Mass here at Immaculate Conception.  Kindergarteners through eighth graders will then ride the school bus out to the Shrine.  While there, we will travel with our Houses to various stations that will be set up.  The day will also include our school participating in the Diocese's Walk for Vocations.  We are also going to be receiving a yummy afternoon treat from one of our parishioners! Please remember that all students need to bring a packed lunch in a labeled brown bag.  No metal water bottles will be taken to the Shrine (feel free to pack a disposable drink with lunch, if you would like).  We will be providing water bottles to all students.  Students should be dressed in school uniform for outdoor activities--watch the forecast to be sure to be dressed weather-appropriately!

Next Wednesday, September 30, is also the LAST DAY for SHORTS.  Starting Thursday, October 1, students are no longer allowed to wear shorts for school. Please check to be certain your children have uniform pants ready for Thursday.  As always, the uniform closet is overflowing!  Please stop in to see what is available.

Hot lunch is available daily in our cafeteria.  The lunch menu for next week is chicken nuggets on Monday, walking taco on Tuesday, RETREAT (bring a packed lunch) on Wednesday, corn dog on Thursday, and Johnny Marzetti on Friday.      September lunch menu  October lunch menu

NEWS WORTH REPEATING 

Families are invited to come to First Friday Devotions on the first Friday of every month for a Holy Hour that includes Eucharistic Adoration, Evening Prayer, and Benediction.  The next First Friday Devotions is  Friday, October 2, from 5:30-6:30 pm.

Breakfast is available daily for all of our students from 7:00-7:30 am for $1, which includes milk.

As we are now several weeks into school, please remember that parking in the main lot at drop-off time is not an option.  By now, parents should be able to pull up to the playground sidewalk, and kids should be able to get out and walk in alone.  If your child needs more time getting out, you will need to park across the street in the parking lot next to the pavilion.

With regard to after-school transportation...if there are changes in the regular way that your child will be going home, and you are aware of that before sending your child to school, please send a note in your child's folder and tell your child to give it to the teacher.  Teachers will then hang that note by the door to serve as a reminder.  If transportation changes need to be made during the school day, please call the school office before 2 pm to make that change.  Calling later than that makes it difficult to get the child where you need them to be.   

Just as a reminder, students are allowed to dress down on their birthday.  However, if that birthday falls on a Mass day, students are NOT allowed to dress down for the day (they are permitted to change into casual clothes after Mass OR just wear casual birthday clothes on a different day). 

Please be sure to go into Option C to check your balance and do your best to keep the total below $50 at all times.  You are welcome to send a check or cash into the school in an envelope labeled with your child's name and Option C.
