Weekly School Update 8/27/2026
Happy Thursday!
What a great first week of school! We welcomed 201 new students this week (our largest enrollment in years). That number includes 16 new families. We also welcome two new teachers to the staff--Miss Vogel in kindergarten and Miss Weilnau in third grade. It is a great time to be at ICS.
Some students are bringing home scholarship acceptance forms and forms to allow the school to deposit the scholarship checks. Please sign those and return right away.
I appreciate everyone's patience this week as we navigate drop-off and pick-up. Now that we have almost a full week under our belts, there should be no parking in the main lot in the morning. Parking in the main lot puts you right in front of moving cars as you cross the lot. If you need to walk your child in, you will need to park across Broad Street, next to the pavilion. As kids are more comfortable about coming into the building, parents should be able to simply pull up and their kids can walk in on their own.
With regards to after-school transportation...if there are changes in the regular way that your child will be going home, and you are aware of that before sending your child to school, please send a note in your child's folder and tell your child to give it to the teacher. Teachers will then hang that note by the door to serve as a reminder. If transportation changes need to be made during the school day, please call the school office before 2 pm to make that change. Calling later than that makes it difficult to get the child where you need them to be.
Next week is the first week of September, which means that we will be celebrating Mass on First Friday (in addition to our normal Wednesday morning Mass). Please remember that students are not to dress down on Mass days.
Our Parish Festival is this weekend, August 29-30. Saturday night is an Adult Only Night with live music and Deacon Jim serving up pierogies and kielbasa. Sunday is for the whole family! Stop up to spend some time with our parish family.
Attached to this email is a form explaining BoxTops for Education. Please read this over, then download the app, sign up, and choose our school. This will then earn funds for our school.
Hot lunch is available daily in our cafeteria. The lunch menu for next week is chicken nuggets on Monday, taco on Tuesday, mini pancakes on Wednesday, mini corn dogs on Thursday, and chicken Alfredo on Friday. August Lunch Menu September Lunch Menu

NEWS WORTH REPEATING
Families are invited to come to First Friday Devotions on the first Friday of every month for a Holy Hour that includes Eucharistic Adoration, Evening Prayer, and Benediction. The next First Friday Devotions is next Friday, September 4, from 5:30-6:30 pm.
Breakfast is available daily for all of our students from 7:00-7:30 am for $1, which includes milk.
Please be sure to go into Option C to check your balance and do your best to keep the total below $50 at all times. You are welcome to send a check or cash into the school in an envelope labeled with your child's name and Option C.
