Happy Thursday!
Another busy week here at ICS! Today, our students celebrated Mass (the Feast of St. Joseph, the Worker) as a school. Following the Mass, the students gave flowers to our Mother Mary. Eighth grader, Gabe, began the flower procession by crowning our Mother. Following May Crowning, Father Al blessed our new Bibles. These Bibles were a gift from ICS alumni, and we are so grateful for these new Bibles.
Then, the entire school went outside for the blessing of the new playgrounds--definitely a much-anticipated event! Preschoolers were first to play on the Littles Playground, and Deacon Jim was first to go down the slide on the Bigs Playground. Thank you to all who support our Annual Fund--this is a very visible reminder of what that money goes to!!
I would like to offer a word of gratitude to our Reverse Raffle Committee. There are too many people to name, and I do not want to leave anyone out. However, a shout-out to the Barb and Jim Vogel Family--their children and children-in-law (and now, grandchildren) are the principle force behind organizing this annual event. We are grateful for all of their hard work, which is a tribute to the legacy that Barb and Jim left; our own staff includes three of those descendants--Mrs. Davis, Miss D. Davis, Miss M. Davis.
Confirmation for next year's 8th graders will be in October (a change from the usual spring Confirmation time). Please see the attached letter with regards to this exciting news.
Hot lunch is available daily in our cafeteria. The lunch menu for next week is popcorn chicken on Monday, tacos on Tuesday, pancakes on Wednesday, hamburger on Thursday, and Johnny Marzetti on Friday. May lunch menu
NEWS WORTH REPEATING
Our classes are filling up. In particular, our preschool is filling up rather quickly. If you are someone who is considering sending your child here for preschool next year (this includes current preschool families), you will need to get in the registration and the fee as soon as possible. We have a maximum capacity of 24 students at any time in the preschool room, and we already have some days that are completely filled.
It seems that warm weather is definitely here! Keep an eye on the day's forecast, as we do our best to go outside for recess, which is at 11 am. That means that it may not be quite as warm as it is predicted yet when we are outside, so a light jacket is often necessary.
Breakfast is available daily for all of our students from 7:00-7:30 am for $1, which includes milk.
Please be sure to go into Option C to check your balance and do your best to keep the total below $50 at all times. You are welcome to send a check or cash to the school in an envelope labeled with your child's name and Option C.
