Happy Thursday!

Our students began to take their MAP tests this week.  It always happens so quickly with this first set of tests, but it does determine a good baseline for our teachers for the entire school year.

Next Thursday is School Picture Day.  Students are welcome to wear a different shirt for pictures.  Please keep in mind that shirts must have sleeves, should not be full of holes, etc.  Students are NOT permitted to wear jeans on picture day.  They may wear uniform pants or dress pants.  Sandals, Crocs, boots, etc., are also not permitted.   Lifetouch is offering 50% off all packages--please take advantage of that.  The information for Picture Day was sent home this week.

Dr. Saunders is looking for students in grades 2-8 to join our Young Voices.  This group sings at school Masses.  Rehearsals are after school on Tuesday.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Each year, our teachers are required to teach VIRTUS lessons.  This requirement comes from the Diocese of Toledo.  VIRTUS is a program of lessons about keeping children safe.  This year, the focus is on being a safe friend and on recognizing boundaries.  We cover this material in a comforting, Christ-centered manner.  Please know that nothing explicit is discussed, but oftentimes students will come home with more questions as they reconsider these discussions in their minds.  If you do not want your child to remain in the classroom when these lessons occur, please reach out to me by tomorrow.

Hot lunch is available daily in our cafeteria.  The lunch menu for next week is a chicken sandwich on Monday, a soft taco on Tuesday, French toast sticks on Wednesday, a hamburger on Thursday, and rigatoni on Friday.  September lunch menu

NEWS WORTH REPEATING

This person will help the Maintenance Lead perform routine electrical, plumbing, and remodeling projects/repairs, general custodial work for all buildings, in addition to landscaping care, requiring the operation of heavy equipment like mowers and hydraulic lifts at times. Interested persons should send a cover letter with a detailed resume and professional references to  pastor@icssaints.org.

Breakfast is available daily for all of our students from 7:00-7:30 am for $1, which includes milk.

Please be sure to go into Option C to check your balance and do your best to keep the total below $50 at all times.  You are welcome to send a check or cash to the school in an envelope labeled with your child's name and Option C.
