Rite of Christian Initiation for
Children & Adults

(RCIC / RCIA)

Are you thinking about becoming Catholic?

Do you know someone else who is?

Were you baptized in the Catholic Church, but never received other Sacraments of Initiation?

For those children who have passed their catechetical age (age 7) but are seeking initiation into the Catholic Church (RCIC) and for those adults seeking either to begin or to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (RCIA), the Church welcomes them into a process of learning and exploration about the Catholic Faith.  This process of discernment may last a year or several years, depending on where individuals are in their spiritual journey.  The experience of spiritual conversion, while initiated in the human heart by the same loving and triune God, looks different for everyone, and it is a serious undertaking worthy of our careful and determined consideration!

The Rites of Christian Initiation is meant to be a gradual process designed to welcome adults into full communion with the Catholic Church through: the study of Sacred Scripture; the teachings, doctrines, and dogmas of the Church; an exposure to habits of prayer, devotion, and reflection; and engaging the broader community through the active service discipleship.  It's a total immersion in Catholic culture!
